The New Zealand University hockey tournament concluded at Hagley Park, Canterbury A winning the Seddon Stick with an unbeaten record. Otago were second,-being beaten by Canterbury. In today’s games Otago was in scoring mood, and. in two games, registered 27 goals to five scored against them. Canterbury B averted defeat for the only time during the tournament, playing a drawn game with Victoria. WOMEN’S TROPHY. RETAINED BY OTAGO. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 26. The final round of matches in the women’s section of the university hockey tournament saw Auckland gain a somewhat surprising though decisive win over the previously unbeaten Otago team by 6 goals to 3. This result and the win of Canterbury A over Canterbury B team by 6 goals to 1, left Otago, Auckland and Canterbury A all equal, with two points each, but Otago, as the previous holder, retains the challenge stick.
