Mrs Hylton Brisco, of Mungahina, is visiting Wellington. The Misses Morrison, of Lansdowne, left today on a visit to Napier. Mrs R. Hall, of Waipawa, is the guest of Mrs J. D. Piper, of Makairo. Mrs E. Jewitt, of Haunui, has returned from a visit to Kimbolton. Mrs W. N. Richardson has returned to Eketahuna from a visit to Napier. Mrs S. Mawley, of Lansdowne, who has been visiting Napier, has returned. Mrs C. E. Robbie, of Eketahuna, has returned from a holiday spent at Napier. Mrs Bett, of Nelson, is staying with Mr and Mrs James Andrew, lea, Whareama. Mr and Mrs A. E. Clemas, of Masterton, will leave on a visit to Sydney next week. Mr and Mrs G. Beecroft, of Masterton, will visit Hdwke’s Bay during Easter. , Mrs G. H. Curry, of Palmerston North, is the guest of Mrs W. Curry, of Eketahuna. Miss N. Ross has returned to Masterton after a tour of the North Auckland district. Mr and Mrs Craig,' of Wanganui, have been staying with Mr and Mrs D. Buchanan, Lansdowne. Mrs M. Willis, of Sydney, is visiting her daughter, Mrs A. H. Ellmers, of Kohinui. Miss Ethelwynne Kissling, of Auckland, is the guest of Mrs W. H. Nelson, “Laureston,” Woodville. Mr and Mrs H. McKenzie Douglas, of Masterton. who have been visiting the South Island, have returned home. Miss A. Vaughan, of Whangarea, has been appointed supervisor of the Pahiatua Telephone Exchange in place of Miss M. Moriarty. A pretty wedding was solemnised at the Presbyterian Church, Otaki, when Nina Fennimore (“Fen”), eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Geo. Cleary, of Otaki Railway, was married to William lan McLeod, eldest son of Mrs Taylor and the late Mr John Taylor, of Martinborough. Miss L. Millett, who was until recently assistant at the Papatawa School, has been transferred to Matakohe near Taumarunui. Before leaving she was accorded a farewell by the pupils of the school, on behalf of whom Barbara Golder presented Miss Millett with a crystal clock. Miss Quinn, of Masterton, has been appointed to succeed her. A most enjoyable garden party was held recently at Ballance by Mrs J. A. Gibson, treasurer of the Women’s Division, in the attractive gardens of her home, to augment the furnishing fund of the Rest Home. The produce stall did excellent business. Everybody participated in the games and competitions, which were won by Mesdames Ebbett, Tait, Polglase, Howell, Holdaway and Handcock and Miss Bremner. ENGAGEMENT. GROVES—HIDDLESTON. Mr and Mrs J. S. Hiddleston announce the-engagement of their only daughter, Veda Jean, to John Gordon, only son of Mr and Mrs W. G. Groves, Bush Grove, Masterton, Wairarapa.
