CARTERTON SALE. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report:—A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward at our Carterton sale yesterday and was offered to a fair attendance. Sheep sold well up to late rates. Cows and heifers showing quality sold well but late calvers and heifers lacking quality were hard to quit. In the pig section weaners and stores sold up to -Jate rates, while porkers were slightly easier. FEILDING SALE SHEEP SELL WELL (By Telegraph —Press Association.) FEILDING, October 7. Both fat and store sheep sold at good prices at todays Feilding stock sale. A heavy* yarding of forward conditioned store cattle found a firm market, but for ordinary condition store cattle, prices were unchanged. Dairy cattle were easier, and fat cattle, of inferior quality, met with a quiet demand. The range of prices was:— Sheep: Prime hoggets, 24s 7d to 265; second quality, 22s 6d to 23s 9d; lighter, 20s to 225; inferior, 19s 3d to 19s 9d; extra prime wethers, 29s 6d; prime quality, 26s 6d to 27s 6d; lighter, 25s 6d to 26s’; prime heavy ewes, 21s 6d to 235; second grade, 19s 6d to 21s; average quality, 18s to 19s 3d; light, 15s to 17s 3d; extra prime maiden ewes, 26s to 27s 6d. Store sheep: Ewe hoggets, best, 33s 6d to 34s 9d; second quality, 32s to 32s sd; smaller, 27s to 30s 2d; wellgrown wether hoggets, 22s to 23s Id, good, 20s lOd to 21s 6d; others, 16s 8d to 19s; good, b.f. hoggets, 18s Id to 19s 2d; two-tooth wethers, 23s 6d. Store cattle: Two-year P.A. steers, £6 7s 6d; good yearling P.A. steers, £5 8s to £6; P.A. cows, r.w. P.A. bulls, £4 18s; mixed yearling steers, £2 13s; heifers rw.b., £3 2s 6d; cows and calves, £1 15s to £3 10s; boner cows, heavy, £3 15s to £4 9s; others, £1 10s to £3 10s.
