Hancox, Renall Street, Masterton, has returned to Palmerston North. Mr and Mrs L. Smith and family, Bentley Street, Masterton, left Masterton yesterday for Stratford, where they will reside in future. Mr and Mrs D. B. Cameron, “Glendhu,” who has been visiting Hawke’s Bay for the McHardy-Palmer wedding, has Returned to Hinakura. Miss Gwen Pither left on Thursday to spend a holiday with Mrs F. H. B. Townsend, “Pinehill,” Miramar, and to be present at the wedding of Miss Nola Townsend to Mr lan Bowie. A wedding of widespread interest to residents of Masterton and Martinborough is that of Mr Jack Holland, of Lower Hutt, and late of Martinborough, to Miss Joyoe Madsen, of Masterton, which will take place at St Matthew’s Church, Masterton, this afternoon. Miss Patricia Riddiford and Miss Valerie Riddiford, formerly of Masterton, who have been in England for the past three years,' will arrive in New Zealand today and will visit their aunt, Mrs Arkwright, Marton, before going to Christchurch to join their mother, Mrs H. F. Nicoll. An enjoyable evening was spent at the home of Mr and Mrs H. G. Alexander, Pownall Street, Masterton, last night, when.friends of Miss K. I. Barnitt, who has resigned from the position of Matron at the Masterton Hospital, met to bid her farewell. Competitions were held, and a presentation was made to Miss Barnitt.
