ENJOYABLE CONCERT

ST VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY. There was a large attendance at the benefit concert held in St Patrick’s Assembly Hall last night, under the auspices of the St Vincent de Paul Society. The audience greatly appreciated the high class items presented by the artists all of whom had to respond to encores. The programme was as follows: — Vocal solo, “The Windmill,” Mr A. Hale; tap duo, Miss N. McMullen and Mr M. McMullen; vocal solo, Miss Leah Johnston, “I Hear You Singing”; humorous sketch, Miss K. Cairns, “Willie Goes Out to Lunch”; vocal solo, Miss Grace Gaudin, “Trees”; pianoforte solo, Miss N. Mulvey, “Invitation to the Valse”; vocal solo, Mr R. Gilbert, “On the Road to Mandalay”; piano accordion selections, Miss Mackay; vocal solo, Mr McMichael, “The Great Adventure”; vocal solo, Miss R. Robinson, “Here in the Quiet Hills”; humorous items, Mr Harry Hall. The accompaniments were played by Miss N. Mulvey. Mr W. Orange thanked the performers for their assistance. Mr L. Robinson, president of the St Vincent Society, thanked all those who had contributed to the concert and announced that approximately £7O had been raised as a result of the effort.
