SPRING BLOOMS

DAFFODIL SHOW AT CARTERTON. AN EXCELLENT DISPLAY. (“Times-Age” Special.) Blooms of an excellent standard were exhibited at the fourth Spring Show held yesterday in the Band Room, Carterton, under the auspices of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union (Carterton branch). Besides daffodils and cut flowers were classes for decorative, bowls, etc. A high standard was also ' Z set in the other classes which included fancy work, vegetables, cookery and preserves. Amongst, the many visitors were: Mrs Wickham' (Dominion President), and Mrs Wakeley (president of the Featherston branch). The presentation of the points prizes was made by Mrs Wickham who also gave a short address to those present. The following officials were in charge of the various exhibits: —Flowers, Mrs Cooper and Mrs Hicks; fancy work, Mrs W. Hall; home produce, Mrs T. McKenzie and Mrs P. Hodder; vegetables, Mrs H.
