WAIRARAPA BIRD SHOW

DISPLAYS AT CARTERTON EXCELLENT STANDARDS SET. LIST OF PRIZE AWARDS. ("Times-Age” Special.) The recently established Wairarapa Poultry, Pigeon and Cage Bird Society which opened its two-day show at Carterton today did so under most favourable circumstances. The Society has been successful in attracting entries from as far distant as Hastings, Hawera, Taihape, Wanganui, Palmerston North and Lower Hutt, as well as from all parts of the Wairarapa district. The show will be open also from 9 a.m. on Friday till 10 p.m. There is a representative attendance of poultry breeders and enthusiasts supplemented by large numbers of the general public. There is a particularly good display of birds.

Approximately 400 entries were rereceived for the various classes and officials of the Society expressed themselves pleased with, the support accorded the show by breeders. The principal officers of the society are as follow: —Patron. Mr Ben Roberts, M.P.; president, Mr G. A. Edge; executive committee, Messrs G. A. Edge (chairman), - J. Wilson, J. M. Nicholls, O.
