DERBY WINNER OWNED BY HON. P. BEATTY
HORSE HITHERTO UNKNOWN. ONLY ONE WIN PREVIOUSLY IN FRANCE. (Recd This Day, 1.43 p.m.) LONDON, June 1. Winning the Derby was novice’s luck for the Hon Peter Beatty, a broil-, er of Lord Beatty. He has only been racing for a brief period, and recently bought Bois Roussel for £B,OOO. Bois Roussekhad not previously run in England and had only had one race in France, where he won against a field consisting of ndn-winners.
