Light rain, after a heavy overnight downpour, delayed the start of the match between Australia and Gloucester, and there was no play before lunch. Rain continued after lunch, and play was abandoned for the day. Bradman has a strained back, which has not yet been diagnosed. He has gone to London for treatment. Bradman may be obliged to rest till the Test match.. The- Australian team is:—McCabe. Badcock, Barnett, Chipperfield, Brown, McCormick, Fleetwood-Smith, Hassett, Waite, Ward and O'Reilly. Walker is twelfth man. TEST TRIAL AT LORDS. RAIN STOPS PLAY. (Recd This Day, 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, June 1. The weather was dull and the wicket soft for the test trial at Lords.
