M.C.C., in their first innings, totalled 362 runs, Hendren 135 and Wyatt 72, being the chief contributors, and in their second innings made 182 runs for 8 wickets, Wyatt (102) being the only batsman who could play the bowling. Australia, in their first innings, totalled 559 runs for 6 wickets (declared), Ponsford making the large score of 281 not out, and McCabe 192. In the M.C.C. first innings Wall captured 6 wickets for 74 runs, and in the second innings Grimmett took 4 wickets for 90 runs, and O’Reilly 3 wickets for 29 runs.
