CHARGES IN GREAT BRITAIN FIRMS FORCED TO DISMISS WORKERS. STORIES OF FALLING OUTPUT. LONDON, May 10. A. member of the House of Commons (Mr D. Sandys) sent a letter to Lord Winterton giving the names of aircraft firms discharging employees owing to a shortage of work, with extracts from letters from the firms, for instance: —■
“Since the beginning of the year we have had to discharge five hundred and are discharging fifty more within a fortnight.” ' “Our firm has fallen from an output of 300 propellers weekly to below twenty.”
