To the Rescue.
7 i the Editor of the Standard. Sib - C was reading a letter in your leans of the ‘Jib iost., entitled •• The Town Lands Trust ” and signed “ Out of the Bing.” A paragraph n the letter reads thus The present cbaiuuan of our school committee told ua a short lime ago that we * were not up to tbe standard’ of other towns." Now, to a Grcvtown reader, the quotation of the said chairman would cause no surprise, as be is noted fir hie classical accomplishment* : but to an outsider he would be considered either “ a Solomon " or a “ Samivel Weller. What bothers me, Mr Editor, is, Did the smd chahman mean a Flag, or Weight* and Me*, sates, mi., his figurative expression in refer# enoe to Greytown ? U the latter (unless the said chairman hoists his own petard), pnbUe opinion would say of him that “ it weighed in the balances and found wanting. I am, &o„ CoMIUMiaTOB.
