South Wairarapa River Board.

This Board met at Fcatheift ni on Saturday. Mr James Donald, the chairinm, presided, and accounts to the amount of £5 13s 3d were passed for payment, leaving a credit balance of £l4 Is 7d.

An apology was received from Mr J. 0, Bidwili for his absence.

It was suggested by Mr Matthews that several members of the Board shortly take a legal opinion as to the Board’s position. Some considerable discussion ensued among the members of the Board as to the importance of taking steps toward endeavoring to prevent the lake from again inuuudating the valuable laud in the immediate vicinity. The clerk then read a letter from the Town Board, granting the use of the Town Board’s room for meetings and the River Board then adjourned until the first Saturday in January next at 3 pm..
