At the R.M. Court, Carterton, on Saturday before the Resident Magistrate, Wm Pilkington was charged with recklessly and furiously riding along Park Road, Carterton, and being the cause of the death of a girl by the name of Ellen Peterson. The evidence of the witnesses as given before the jury at the inquest was adduced, and the prisoner was committed to take his trial at the next sitting of ttv Supreme Court, Wellington. The severv. witnesses were bound over to appear.
