Qlaioks, Merry Maiden. 1 Greytown Handicap—Spy, Princess Royal, Little Scrnb, Smooth, Miss Barnum, Honeysuckle, Giriri, Glsicke, Merry Maiden, Pilgrimage. Handicap Hurdles, Ist day—Halioore, Freebooter, Aetna. Selling Uace—Te Whiti. Spring Handicap—To Whiti, Princess Royal, First Water, Normanby, Litlle Scrub, Fritz, Miss Barnnm, Rata, Humour, Giriri, Pilgrimage. n irthday Cap—Princess Royal, First Water, Little Scrub, Smooth, Bata, Rumor. llaudicop Hurdles, 2nd day—lla’icore, Forest King, Freebooter, Acme. MELBOURNE CUP. The following is the result fur the Melbourne Cop : Victorian Derby, a sweepstake of 26 sots each, 6 ft with 660 added. Distance, one mile and a half Hon J. White’s Trident, Bst 101b (Hales) ... 1 Mr D. Cooper's Ohesham, Set 101b 2 Mr A. F. Blackwood’s Agloos, Bst 191b 8 Kingflah, First Consul, Maddelina and Volcano also ran. Acme, Kiora, and Telephone were scratched. Melbourne Stakes—Boolia and Isoncmy, dead heal, bravo 3, ; Selling Race—Heron 1, Ghost 2, Stafford 8. Coburg Stakes—Daystar 1, St John 2. Hogmany 8. Holtham Handicap.—Claptrap 1, Hexham 2, Lancer 3, The Marlbymong Plate woe won by Hortense. Thirty-five thousand persona were present. Trident's victory was received with great enthusiasm. Halfway down the strait Ches. bam appeared to be winning easily, bat' Trident under great punishment, made a gallant effort, and at the distance poet was on level terms with the leader, and gradually forging ahead won by a length amid great enthusiasm.
