MELBOURNE CUP. The following is the result fur the Melbourne Cop : Victorian Derby, a sweepstake of 26 sots each, 6 ft with 660 added. Distance, one mile and a half Hon J. Halfway down the strait Ches. bam appeared to be winning easily, bat' Trident under great punishment, made a gallant effort, and at the distance poet was on level terms with the leader, and gradually forging ahead won by a length amid great enthusiasm.
