News has been received of an outrage by the New Guinea natives on the steambo it Koredo. Four persons were killed and t\V ' wounded. While lying in one of the New Guinea harbars the vessel was surrounded by native boats. The natives, without warning, seized the captain and speared him and some others. The boatswain, who was armed, made a gallant resistance, and killed one native and wounded two others. The rest then fled.
This evening it is expected that Wellington will be connected bj rail with Manawata and Taranaki, and a train will be able to run to night. '
