Price of Cattle in Sydney.
The following is from a Taranaki paper :~ “ Mr N. King has received the following telegram reapecting the sale of the Taranaki cattle which were sent to Sydney. It is dated Sydney, Thursday 23rd, and says ‘ 1 The cattle arrived in good order except one dead. All sold this afternoon ; 27 averaged £l4 8s ; balance averaged £ll 9s. Market down.” It may be said that this price will lea.e a fair margin of profit. Considering the risk, however, it is unlikely to be snfficient encouragement to send further shipments this year. The spring having fairly set at in New Sonth Wales will tend to depress the cattle market, and prices will probably rale low for a time. Arrangements will be made for taking advantage qnickiy for the next favourable opportunity for the disposal of stock in Sydney at remunerative prices.”
