AUCKLAND RACING CLUB.
The following horses have hum scratched for the Melbourne Cup Blairgowrie, Disowned, Krnpp, Liverpool, Plausible, Torrent and Winchester. HAWKE3 BAY JOCKEY CLUB’S RACES. Second Day. Maiden Plate —Rivulet 1, Fardingale 2, Orwell 3. Kitty, Totara, Expelled, Forester, Musk Rose, British Lion and Snapshot started. Div3os and 335. Time2.l9. Handicap Hardies, 2 miles—Liberty 1, Denbigh 2, Bide a Wee 3. Belle, Director, and Kangaroo also started ; time, 4min sseo. Dividends, LlO3 10s and £153 9s. Spring Handioap—Silence 1, Waitiri 2, Lady Artist 3. Administrator, Pearl, Marion, Strenuous, Cremorne, Soudan, Normanby, Fardingale also started, Silence jumped off with a good lead. Coming into the straight the order was Silence, Lady Artist and Pearl, w th Cremorne coming up and Waitiri last, but at the turn rounding the sheds, Fardingale was seen to be coming rapidly upthough Silence had a long lead, Cremorne next, then Normanby and Pearl, with Waitiri lying back. At the back of the course Silence was lengths in front and going very strong, Marion second, Lady Artist third, Waitiri fourth, Soudan fifth. At the bend Silence and Marion were still in the same positions, With Soudan running np strong. The favorite made a grand straggle in the straight, but was unable to catch Silence, who won comfortably by two lengths from Waitiri, who beat Lady Artist by a head for second place, Normanby (onrth. Sondan fifth, Administrator sixth, Murion seventh. Time, 2min 41.3.5 see. Dividend, £8 2s,and £5 12s. Selling Handicap—The Arrow 1, Deceiver 2, Rimn 3. Taurahine also started. Div. £S 9s and £4 11s.
Scurry Stakes, once round—The Arrow 1, Normanby 2, Turahine 3. Little Wonder, Ravenswood, Kiriena, Titike, Sportsman, Kangaroo and Semper also ran. Dividends, £4 9s and £4 2s,
Consolation.—Marion 1, Miss Dargon Pasha 3. Lady Artist, Tornado, Psycho, and Expelled also started. Won by tv o lengths. Dividends, £2 16s and £3 9s.
At a meeting of the Auckland Racing Club the following rule was confirmed :—" Tht, with the view of promoting legitimate raci g and protectiug the age of the totalisator, t) is Clnb resolves that no club in the Provim il District of Auckland shall receive a lice) -e to hold race meetings under the rules of t e Club that does not give at least £3O in added money to each race advertised in .is programme. On the 1 st day Mr Tancred's Forester, who won tie Hawke'sßay Guineas, paid £2l lt)s in ide and £7O 10s outside.
