Featherston Town Board.
The monthly meeting of the Featberston Town Board was held on Monday. Commissioners present—Messrs Reynolds (chairman), Gundy, Oakly, and Hodder. The minntes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Treasurer’s Book showed a credit balance of £l2olßs 61. The following accounts were passed for payment: -John Beal £2 Is Bd, E. Bloxham £9 •. J. Crawford £4 16 3d, W. Hodder £9 12s6d, W. Taylor £3 IBs, C. Worsby £4 16* 3d, Keys and sundries £7 16s. The ponndkeeper’s book and report was laid on the table and fees paid in £2 16s 2d. The ranger’s report was read and fees paid in 17s. The collector reported rates collected to date £67 6s 2d. The Registrar of Dogs paid in fees 20s. The clerk paid in rent* £5 10s. Total receipts for the night £ll 4s. CORBKSFOHDKNCI IBWARDS. From Clerk W.W.C.C. in reply re Blaughter Houses Act being brought into operation. From Messrs A. Donald and Temperance Committee, asking for nse of Board office. From Mr John Welborn accepting office as ponndkeeper. OUTWARDS. To Temperance Committee and A. Donald, granting permission (or use of Board office. To W. Nicola Esq., re culverts in Wsite Street. To the ranger, giving him one month's notice. To W.W.C.C. re bringing Slaughterhouse Act into operation. It was resolved that applications be invited for leasing the office paddock for the period of six months. Mr Oskly’s notice of motion that the lee of 2s 6d for giving notice of cattle impounded be reduced to Is came up (or discussion, and it was resolved to reduce the fee to 6d. Mr H. C. Steffort was appointed ranger to the Board, vice Mr Beal. Mr John Welborn was appointed pound* keeper, vice Mr Wm Fife.
