Another Bank.
To the Editor of the Standard
Sir,—l see someone has written to yonr paper about having another bank here, and though be is not a customer of ths Bank of New Zealand he has written what several persons feel to be true, for we do want another bank in Oreytown. Ido not think it matters much what branch is established, but it is nothing but right that there should be competition in banking as well a* in store-keeping aud hotel-keeping. On several occasions 1 have beard it talked about, aud hope that some eteps will be taken to indue* another bank to start. I feel sure if tha matter was known among the Wellington banks we shonld soon have another. May I suggest that interested persons should sign a requisition to the manager of one of tha Wellington banks. I tm, Ac., Quid None. Oreytown, Joly 26,1686.
