The following paragraph should interest farmers Fortunately lime is one of the most generally found of the organic constituents of the soil, when we remenber that in 25 bushels of oats there are nine pounds of lime ; in 38 bushels of barley, 15 pounds ; in two tons of clover hay, 35 pounds ; in 25 tons of turnips, 140 pounds ; and in 250 bushels of potatoes, 270 pounds.
