Mb Geoboe Fisheb had it all his own way at the adjourned meeting of the policy holders in the Government Life Insurance Association. He carried a resolution to the effect:— “* 1. That the central Board be reconstituted, and that it consist of seven members, four to be elected by the policy holders, and three to be nominated by the Government—the three nominated members not to be officers of the Government. 2. That the Board so reconstituted shall elect its own Chairman. 3. That the honoraria be fixed at £IOO for each member of the Board, except the Chairman of Directors, who aboil receive £3OO per annum.” This resolution requires to be confirmed by a poll of the policy holders to be taken in four weeks’ time. But we think it is practically certain that the policy holders will, by a large majority, vote in favor of the resolution. Should that be the result, then it remains t > be seen whether Parliament will adopt the necessary legislation to carry out the views of toe policy holders. It has to be said in favor of (he suggested new Board of Management of the Insurance Association, that the policy holders would sleet the majority of its mcojb.rg. The real power would therefore rest in the bauds of the elected members of ihe Board of management.
