A DESERTED HUSBAND SHOOTS MIS WIFE. Auckland, Wednesday About io o'clock last night Michael Lunny, residing at the North Shore, attempted the murder of his wife and a man named George M'Guire by shooting with a retover. Mrs. Runny had left her husband, and was living with M-Guire .Last night while going to see her five children, her husband fired two shots at her, one lodging in the groin, the second grazing her head. He afterwards shot twice at M'Guire, but missed him Lunny was arrested shortly afterwards. The wife's] wounds a,e serious. The prisoner says he is sorry he did not kill both. He bought the revolver since his wife left him, evidently for the purpose.
