The Greytown Volunteer Soiree.
The Volunteer Soiree in the Greytown Town Hall on Monday night, in aid of the Wairaiapa Institute, was an immense success. The Hail was eomplstely filled with dancers and the company was most social and enjoyable. Every arrangement was made for the comfort and entertainment of the visitors. Messrs Eoisenberg and Lundqvist rendered some grand music, and the refreshments ■applied by the ladies of the town were both excellent and abundant. One feature particularly, contributed by one of Greytown 's oldest lady residents was much appreciated at au early hour in the mornijt;, this was some excellent reap. The Gr«ytown Volunteer ouiree is one more success scored not soou to be forgotten. Mr and Mrs Reynolds catered in their usual admirable manner, and sere untiring in their efforts to please and accommodate all tastes and desires in the way of snstenauce. It is estimated that there were nearly 80 couples at the soiree. Dancing was spiritedly sustained until the programme with some extras was completed, which was not until oue of the small hoars in the morning. Corporal Maguire acted as MC with his usual success.
