The Weekly Dance.

To the Editor of the Standard. bn,—ln looking of your valuable paper, I see fhgt the Greytown Fire Brigade and Private Baud have joined together for a weekly donee, to be held tor the winter to raise fnnd« for their requirements. Now I think tbie ie a very good idea, to raise money (or anefa a purpose, while they are so much in need; and I hope the young people will do their beet to make it a success. For we all know that the Bend and Fire Brigade are two very valuable requirements to Greytown, end it would be a great loss were Greytown deemed of their aervices. I am, Ac, Well Wishes. To the Editor of the Standard. Sit, —Wilt you kiodlv help us by explaining to the people of Greytown our reason (or asking them to assist ns by attending a Quadrille Assembly. We aie pretty well np in drill, but ore short of ammnnition, and cannot get practice to learn to fire. We asked Mr Jorgensen to get up a dancing class to try to help ns, and just as be aUrted we get opposition from the Band and the Fire Brigade It seems too bad. We had hoped by this movement to btve got some money together for purebat-e of ammnnition, to assist tome, whose parents cannot afford to bay uniforms. We do get a little ammunition from Government, but only about 20 rounds, and 1 think the leatt thing the Band and Fire Brigade could do is to let ua have our d mce to ourselves to raise lands. They have both done well enough. I am Ac., Schoolboy.
