Tbe minutes of the last meeting weie read and confirmed. It was resolved that gymnasium papers be sent to the Educatiou' Board applying fur the uecessai-y apparatus. Hiteman's account (£1 8s) was passed for payment. Resolved that Hiteman whitewash the outbuildings. Resolved that Hiteman's salary be £3O per year subject to certain conditions. Messrs Matthews and Robertson were appointed visitors for the month.

A meeting of the Amalgamated Societies' Sports Committee was held at the Borough Chambers, Greytown, on Friday night. Mr E Gray in the chair, li was resolved to accept the tender of the Greytown Private Brass Band to perform on the occasion on. condition that there should be no less than twelve performers. The chairman reported that be had received a reply from Mr W. C, Buchanan, and that he had arranged for an excursion train to ran from Wellington to Greytown on 17th March. The secretary reported that he had received the sum of £ll 5s as nomination fees. Resolved, that the secretary be requested to publish handicaps in Standabd and Post. Messis Trot* man and Amos were elected a committee to supervise dance in Forester*' Hall on the night of the sports,
