A meeting of the Works* Co nmi'ree of the Wairarapa West 0 .only Council was held on Saturday latt f i| K , purpose of receiving tenders for lit) chains road formation on Martinborough-Pahana road. The following tenders were sent in Patrick Carr, £297 : Martin Keenan, £319; M. O’Loughlin, £412 ; T. Bowden, £396 5s ; D. H eagerly, £305 ss. On account of P. Carr’s tender not being received until Saturday morning, which was beyond the time advertised for closing tenders, (he committee resolved to take the next lowest, viz, D. Heagerly, £305 ss. It was resolved that tenders bo called far road formation, bridle track, bosh clearing &c., from Parker's whare to Kaiwhata.
