Presentation.
At the conclusion of the cricket match, on Saturday last, the Band and Martin - borough terms being present, Dr. Spiatt fin the absence of the President of the Greytown Cricket Club, who was prevented by other engagements), presented Mr \V. Judd with a bat, in token of his brilliant play in the late cricket match between Wellington and Greytown. The Doctor expressed the pleasure it afforded him of making the plantation, stating that it was subscribed for by the citizens of Greytown. for the services he had rendered his club as a cricketer at different times. He believed it was the only noble game that men could play, and hoped (list Mr Judd would be spared long to enjoy the use of his gift, the doctor believing he was thoroughly entitled to it. Mr Judd
! briefly returned thanks The bat, which ! is one of Bussey’s, bore the following j inscription, which was neatly engraved on i a silver shield :—“ Presented to William | Judd, by the citizens of Greyfown, for 1 brilliant play, Wellington C.C rGreytown 1 C.O. January 22, 1886.”
