Correspondents must, in every case, famish tbeir names and addresses, not necessarily for publication, but as a guarantee of good faith. All letters for insertion must be written ON ONE side op tub pappb only, and addressed, to the Editor of the Standard. We do not identify ourselves with tho opinions expressed by our correspondents In order to secure insertion, Advertisements, &c., must be sent in not later than eleven o’clock on the dfly of publication. Births, Marriages, and Deaths, are inserted gratis, but they must be properly authenticated. Letters on subjects of local and general interest, if fairly and temperately written, and of brief length, will, so far as space permit, find insertion in our columns.
