RULES AND REGULATIONS, All entries must be made subject to the condition that all disputes, claims, and objections arising oat of the racing shall be decided by a majority of Stewards Sreseut, or whom they may appoint, and that such ecision shall be final and binding in all cases. Nominations for Handicap Hurdle Race, Taratahb Carterton Jockey Club Spring Handicap, and Clare* ▼ille Handicap to be made in writing, stating name, pedigree, performances, description and age of horse, and the colors of the rider, ana to be sent in accompanied by the nomination fee to the Hou Secretary, G. W. Deller, Carterton, on or before Wednesday, 3rd February, ISB6, 0 p.m. Weights to be declared on or Monday, the Bth February, 1886, and published in local newspapers. Acceptances and General entries to be made on or before Friday, 12th February, 1886, at 9 p.m. Three entries or the public money will be withheld. No protest will be considered unless lodged with the Secretary within ten minutes alter the race, accompanied by a deposit of two pounds, which shall be forfeited if the Stewards are of opinion that the protest is frivolous or vexatious. All jockeys to ride m the colors nominated or a fine ot 1 sot will be enforced. The saddling bell will ring at 11.30 am., first race to start at 12 noon sharp. The rules of the Club to apply in all cases, where not provided for in this programme. A horse to run in the Hack, and Hack Hurdle Races must comply with the following conditions, viz (11 It must be in actual use as a bona fide hack. (2) It must not have been trained, i.e. galloped or sweated in clothing or rug at least for six months befbre this race meeting. (3) It must never have been entered for any other race, the advertised stake of which being more than fifty pounds. (4) It must not for two years previous to this race meeting have started for any race except a Hack, or Hack Hurdle Race. (6) It must never have won any race except a Hack, or Hack Hurdle Race.

All sheep must be on the ground at 10 o’clock a.m., and to be removed by permission of the Stewards only. Sale to commence at 11 a.m.. Sharp. THE RAM FAIR will be held on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17th, and the Entrance Fees are—--1 Shilling per head np to 5, and Cd per head for all over that number.
