My Mosquitoes.

I’m loud of ths mosquito, And be is food of me, For ever blight snd cheery And pert snd full of glee. He never seems in trouble, Though all i* dark and dim, Ha plumes bis wings, and blithely aiaga Hie happy arening hymn. For eonntlese generatiosa Mosquitoes have been known— They bnzxed around the Temple, And sat on David’s throne ; And though no man has spoken For them a kindly word, Tet I shall always cherish This cheerful little bird. When in tb* beat ot summer I toes upon my bed, And sigh in vain for slomber To soothe my weary bead, Then in the silent moonlight They come to solace me, And ten* their lyre while all the ehoir Make joyons'melody. They sing duet* and trioe And ehoroMe so sweet; Then one will sing a solo While all the rest retreat. Then back they come more lively, More joyous than before, And singing loader, iweeter still, They dabble.in;my'gore. Bnt when they glow familiar, And 1 make noise and say, '• Now, that’s too much, mosquitoes, Why don’t yon clear away f ” They gather round in thousands And cry, “ It’s all in fun ; We never harry over meals, Nor stop until we've done.” What though they practise boring. Or st my body peek, 1 don't begrudge—when snoring— A nice bit of the neck, I pnt it down as payment, For nataraliets say A lot of donbtfnl matter them Mosquitoes clear awsy.
