Melbourne, January 6. The manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand (Limited) reports on the local market as follows Shipping wheat has improved in value since last report and is now firm at i? iid to 4s per bushel. Malting barley is quiet, lower qualities beiug nominally 3d per bushel below last quotations. Prices to-day range from 3* 3d to 3s 9 d. New Zealand feed oats are one penny higher than last week, as rod to 38 per bushelwhile milling sorts are Quoted at 3s. New Zealand oats, under bona, remain at as id to as 3d-
Messrs Goldsboraugh and Company (Limited) held their usual weakly wool sale at their rooms this afternoon. There was a large [attendance of buyers, and the catalogue of 2,000 bales which was submitted elicited an animated competition One thousand five hundred bales were disposed of at satisfactory prices, the market ruling very firm at late rates. Light crossbreed and heavy scoured wools wens in good demand. Greasy merino soid up to B|d, while scoured wools realised as much as is 4sd per lb,
