Unqualified Handicappers.

To the Editor of the Standard. Sir, —Having waited to see if any one more abe than myself would take up this question but in vain, I think it is my duty as an owner to point out to the various Jockey Clubs the unjustness that racing men are subjected to through an unqualified handicapper. Ido not say for one moment that the gentleman who framed the Taratahi Carterton Handicap has not done his best, but this I do say, if he cannot do better ha should leave it aloue. He is handicapper also for Masterton-Opaki and Featherston, and I maintain we have no right as owners to suffer for his want of knowledge. In the T.C.J.C. Handicap, he has placed the Administrator gst 61b ; last Autumn this horse carried gst i sib in the Wairarapa Cup, and could have won it at ij miles, in the Tauherenikau Stakes i\ miles, carrying lost qlb ; his head was nearly pulled off to stop him beating The 7st isib. This season ha is even a better horse, as his running in the New Zea.and Cup will testify. Stiil he has only gH ylb, or ilb more to carry in the Olareville Hand cap, ij miles, while some of the other horses are risen iqlbs. Administrator is a year older aud has I libs less to carry than what he could huve won the Tauherenikau Stakes with. I should like to know what this means, as in justice to the majority of racing men in Wairarapa I think a change is necessary. I am, &c., Owner.
