Handicap Steeplechase, 100 sovs, second horse 10 sovs from the stakes—About two miles and a half ; Nomination 1 sov ; acceptance, 2 sovs ; and 2 sovs at the post. 8. Handicap Hack Race, 10 sovs 1 mile—Open to horses that have never been entered for other than hack races. Post entry, 10s. 4, L. V. J. C. Handicap, 85 sovs—Second horse 5 sovs from the stakes; two miles ; nomination 1 sov ; acceptance 2 sovs, and one sov at post. 6. Selling Race, 20 sovs— l mile, weight lor age, the winner to become the absolute property of the Lower Valley Jockey Club, and to be sold by public auction immediately after the race. Entrance, 1 sov 6. Native Race Handicap, 20 sovs—One mile 1 sov; acceptance, 10s. This race is only for horses owned at least six months previous to the day of races, trained and to be ridden by aboriginal Natives. 7. Martinborocgh Handicap, 30 sovs—One mile ; nomination, 1 sov; acceptance, 10s
RULES AND REGULATIONS. The saddling bell will ring at 11.30 a.m., the first race start at 12 noon sharp. Each Race will start punctually at the time appearing in the correct cards of the races. The flat races tobenm under ihe L.V.J.C. Rules. The Steeplechase under the N.Z.G.N. S.C. Rules. No scratching of horsesallowed except through the Secretary, and not later than 30 minutes before the time of starting. All entries and nominations to he made in writing, sealed and addressed to the Secretary, entrance money to be enclosed with color, sex, name, age and pedigree of the horse, name of the owner and colors of the rider. In ease of a protest, the same must be lodged with the Secretary, in writing, within fifteen minutes after the race is run, with a d, posit of two guineas, such deposit to be forfeited it the pretest is not sustained. No entry will be received for any of the races, except upon the conditions, that all claims disputes and objections arising out of iho races shall be dec ided by a majority of the stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Weights for the Martinnorough Handicap to be declared ou the course oiler the Native Race is over. Acceptances for the same to be made 30 minutes before the race tabes place.
