Another Job.
Another job has been committed in the appointment of an aristocratic “ new chum ” to the office of Parliamentary Librarian. The fortunate gentleman who got the billet came out from Home with letters of recommendation to influential people here, and so the thing was “ worked ” in his favor. Such an appointment is a great wrong and injustice to many highly gifted men who have lived for years in the colony, and who possess every qualification to fill the office in question with the utmost credit. The good places in the gift of the colony, should, as a rule, go to the colonists themselves, "not to outsiders.
