THE DIVORCE BILL. JUSTICES OP THE PEACE. jn the Honse of Representatives on Monday there was a long discussion in Committee on tlie Divorce Bill. It was proposed that divorce should ho grunted incases where there had boon wilful desertion (or seven years, but this was negatived. Then a clause was carried providing that a divorce should be
given in cases where eithir husband nr wife was convicted of crime and imprisoned 'nr given years. Then there was another proposal for divorce being civen in cases in which the husband or w f-■ became insane and remained so for seven yeais. but after a lot of talk progress was reported, and the question dropped. Ih Committee an Imprest Supply Bill for £3OO 000 was passed. The Parcel's Post Hill was withdrawn and the Bill affecting J.P.’s was considered in Committee, road a third time and passed. This Bid provides that if .1 P.’s neglect to attend to Court duties they will be struck off the ioll. The House rose at 1.50.1
