A lady m Hammersmith has a pet do? which she calls “ Dick,” after her husband, whom everybody calls Dick, 'ihe other day her sister came running to a neighbor’s, where she was making a Visit, and screamed to tier —“ Oh, Mary. cmne quick ; Dick is awfully sick, ami tin-reV nobody at the house." ■’t.ooii graci-U'' Whath wrong? What has ho taken and she rushed for home, " fell me, tell me," she gapped breathlessly, “ is be dangerous ? M ill no dm *• Oh, I don’t know,” waiied the -i-tei ; " he told mo to go quick for y -u ; lout he didn’t know what was g.-iag to happen.’’ " Told von -told you and the dared sv'enn put her hands to her head. " Then it ain’t Dick the deg “ Xo, o! (our,- ii"t ; it's your husband." " Wed. that's an awfu, relief. Don't veu startle me that way again. Let’s go slower, we’ll get there in plenty of tune .’ and she wa.kod on with nearly eiery trace of exciiem, i.c gone.
