Tim White Hart Hotel, Carterton, is undergoing repairs, and among the renovations a new roof is being put on the building. The weather being recently so fine the builders feeling assured there was no danger, stripped off part of the old roof preparatory to recovering the building but alas, the weather changed with the result that the rain ponied into the hotel in torrents we hear doing damage to walls and furniture to the extent of over £IOO.

A few weeks ago they were all dead, and there is hardly a peach to be had iu the district this season in consequence. Doubtless the continued fine weather has a deal to do with the change for the better.

The Star says Mr G. S. W. Dalrymple has effected the sale of a section of land next M.
