GORDON DEFEATS THE REBELS TWICE. Caum, September so. Further intelligence has been received from Khartoum confirming the telegram received from that town on the tyth fafWffW, The latest despatch states that General Gordon baa twice inflicted defeat upon dm rebels, and repulsed thorn with heavy loss, compelling them to retire and to raue tbo siege of Khartoum. The retreat of the fisi* lowers of the Mahdi took place on 30th August, since which time General Gordon has held complete command of the approaches to Khartoum and the snmwnding cooatry.
