After this season Quicksilver will leave the district to proceed south. Quicksilver is a chesnnt roan, foaled in 1862 ; bred by Mr James Coker, Downhane, Norfolk. Sire, Betts’ Fireaway ; dam by Baxter’s Performer, the fastest trotter in Norfolk, sold in 1863 to a French buyer for £SOO. Betts’ Fireaway is by Bayer’s Fireaway ; dam by old Prickwillow; grand dam a noted Yorkshire trotting mare. Quicksilver, since his arrival in Canterbury in 1864, has been exhibited in all the principal shows, and in every instance carried ofl the first prize, except once, when be was adjudged as having been entered in a wrong class and the first prize was awarded to his son.
