A FASHIONABLE WEDDING.

The marriage of the Earl of Donougbmore to Misa Stephens, at St. David’s Cathedral, Hobart Town, on the 19th May, is described in the Mercury of the following day : “Every available portion or space in the cathedral was speedily filled, and while there could nut haye been less than a thousand pessons in the building, quite that number were obliged to remain outside, and be' content with a glimpse of the bridal party as they arrived and departed. As soon as the bridegroom and his friends (Hon. W P. Hely Hutchinson and Captain Price, of Madras Staff Corps) had taken up their positions in front of the chancel steps, the bride entered the cathedral by the principal entrance, and walking up to the < tunnel steps, stood on the left of the bride groom. She was magnificently attired in a white satin dress, trimmed with Brussels lace, a splendid and costly Brussels lace veil, and a beautiful wreath of orange plossum, whilst she also had a rare fan ot mother of-pearl. She looked slightly pale, but throughout the ceremony retained her composure There were eight bridesmaids, viz.—Miss Mav Stephens, the bride's sister; the M sses Du Cane, daughters of bis Excellency the Governor; and the five cousins of the bride. They were all similarly attired in white silk dresses, trimmed with swans-down, and tarlatan panniers looped up with white satin bows; the bodies of the dresses were trimmed square with Maltese lace and swans-duwn. They also wore wreaths of jessamine and lilies of the valley, and tulle veils.”
