PUBLIC MEETING, CARTERTON.
A Public Meeting was held at Carterton on Saturday last, R. Fairbrother was elected to the Chair, Mr Carter,made a speech similar in purport to the.one reported.by us in our last. The following resolutions were unanimously agreed to:— Proposed |,by 11. Dixon, seconded by W. Parker:—
,l That in the opinion of this meeting the revenue derived from Educational Reserves in the Wairarapa ought to constitute a separate fund for Educational purposes in the Wairarapa District, and that the Chairman be requested to communicate this resolution to the Government with the view of steps being taken to give it legal effect.” “ That in the opinion of this meeting it is highly desirable that a Grammar School should be established in the Wairarapa.” Proposed by R. Dixon, seconded by W. Bambry :
“ That a vote of thanks be given to Mr C. R. Carter for the steps he his taking with respect to the establishment of a Grammar School in the Wairarapa,"
