Tabatahi Road District.— This district lias been proclaimed by the Superintendent and comprises all the land of the Taratahi Block situated between the Rivers Waioliine and Waingawa, from the hills to the River Ruamahunga. Excepting always so much of the land comprised within the above limits as is comprised in the Carterton Highway District, proclaimed on the twenty-sixth day of February, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-four. Grettowx Road District. —The following are the boundaries of this district: —“ The lower boundary to follow the southern or lower side of the Tanhcrenikau into the Lake thence on the East side of the Lake until its junction with the Ruamahunga River, hence up that River to the mouth or outlet of the Waioliine River, thence up that River, the Waioliine, to the hills and thence across, for the western houndaiy, under the hills to the Tauherenikau. Excepting always so much of the land comprised within the above limits as is comprised in the Moroa High wav District. Native Lxniis Act. —From a return of receipts and expenditure under this Act for the Financial Year 1866-7 we learn that the receipts from fees and duties amounted to £2533 11s., and that the expenditure onaccount of salaries, surveys and expenses of the Native Land Court amounted to £6,776 3s. 2d. Papawai Road. —We are requested to state that the Provincial Government has been prevailed upon to grant out of the Provincial Treasury two equivalents to the amount that may he obtained from voluntary contributions towards rendering the Papawai Road passable. Seeing that there is a flour mill there in good working order, which would, if the road were made passable, prove of great benefit to the farmers residing in the vicinity of Greytown, we trust that the small amount required from them to effect this object will he cheerfully given. We understand that several subscriptions have been promised, and that donations will be received either by Mr Fuller or Mr Allan Garment.

Bigamy. —At Fcatherston on Tuesday, the case of bigamy, which has now been so long before the public, was again brought on for investigation. Mr Buckley who appeared on behalf of the prisoners, raised an ob jection to the information as against Robert Gibbs, coupling it with that of the female prisoner, he held that to constitute an accessoryship, it would first he necessary to prove thefact of the crime having been committed at all, which in this instance the prosecutor had failed to do. The Bench held the objection to he good, and in consequence on the application of Mr Buckley, Robert Gibbs was discharged from custody. The prosecutor then laid a fresh information against Robert Gibbs, and on that information requested a summons to cause Gibbs to appear at a future date. The female prisoner, (Fanny Gibbs) was then remanded for a further period of eight days.

’Waioiiise Bridge. —lt will be seen from an official notice in our advertising columns that owing to damage sustained to one of the piers, this bridge has been for the present closed against heavy traffic. We have been informed that if an additional expense of £2O had been incurred in the first instance in the erection of a third buttress to the bridge on the Greytown side of the river, as was suggested at the time, the expense which will now be incurred, and the great inconvenience which will be occasioned by the closing of this important thoroughfare to heavy traffic, w T ould have been avoided. But so it is, Governments General and Provincial, arc always “penny wise and pound foolish.”
