A PERPLEXING QUESTION.
SAFETY FOR PEDESTRIANS.
Why don’t pedestrians on roadways walk on the right-hand side ? They are out of danger of attack from the rear, and can see all approaching traffic. Granted that on some occasions it is impossible for pedestrians to observe this unwritten safety rule. Having regard, then, to this exception, can any of our readers offer an explanation ? Surely some man or woman of the 8000 readers of this journal can think out a satisfactory answer —if there is one.
