ELLICOTT BLOCK SETTLERS' PIONIC. KEEN CONTESTS. There was a large (assemblage of settlers from the Ellicott Block (Small Farms Scheme) and their wives and families, besides a good number of neighbouring farmers and friends, at the first sports meeting and picnic. of the Ellicott Block settlers, on Saturday last. A very happy time was spent, and some of the sports events were keenly contested, the winners being heartily applauded on their prowess. In the evening a social and dance was held in the community hall, and a feature of the programme there was several really excellent items by the children.
