At the local sitting of the Magistrate’s Court to-day, a relief worker, Charles Brown, was charged with bein gfound on licensed premises after closing hours on May 2nd, in the Te Awamutu Hotel at 8.20 p.m. Constable Forsyth said Brown went into the hotel with a bottle in a bag and wanted the bottle filled. —Brown said:/ y he could not account for the offence. It was the first time in his life such a thing had occurred. He was not drunk, but could not remember the details. —Brown was fined 10s and costs and warned that, next time the penalty would be heavier.
