WOMEN'S DIVISION
TE AWAMUTU BRANCH
The monthly meeting of the Te Awamutu branch of the Women's Division was held in the Parish Hall on Thursday last. Mrs W. A. Godfrey presided over a good attendance of members and cordially welcomed all visitors.
After repeating the Creed, correspondence and business was dealt with,- including finalising arrangements for a Rose Show to be held in November. ■ * " ",
Mjrs J. Kay spoke of the visit to Wharepuhunga branch at which several Te Awamutu members were guests at their first birthday. This branch is doing good work and the members in their efforts are to be congratulated on the. success attained. Miss Hills of Te Pahu. who has resided in Rhodesia at different periods, gave a woderfully interesting and discriptive talk about the life, industrial activities' and scenic attractions of that country. Some of the personal experiences related-were both thrilling and humourous. Two members have recently been to Raglan, and speak highly of the care and attention received at the Rest Room there, and under the supervision of Mrs Ralfe;, recommended this place as being extremely suitable for any woman requiring a thorough rest. A vote of appreciation was expressed by acclamation to Miss Hill, also to Miss Eyre who gave two very interesting demonstrations, and to the following ladies for much appreciated items:—Mrs Telfer (Ngahape) character sketch; Miss Blanche Kay, pianoforte solo; Mrs F. H. Barnett, violin solo; Mrs H. E. Walters (Ngahape) accompanist. Afternoon tea was kindly dispensed by the members of Te Kawa district.
