LEAGUE OF MOTHERS. (Own Correspondent.) The monthly meeting of the League was held on Saturday, when an " American tea " afternoon was held in aid of the British and Foreign Bible Society, and proved a great success. Afternoon tea was served, Mrs L. Godfrey and Mrs G. Bell being hostesses.
The final entertainment of the series of card evenings run by the Social Club was held on Friday. 500 was placed, top score for ladies going to Mrs G. Finn and gents, Mr Leo Rice. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Roselle Bell (Pirongia) and Mr Myers. Mrs Rothwell kindly supplied the music. The aggregate winners for the season were Mrs G. Bell and Mr Baker. Arrangements are well in hand for the grand concert and dance to be held in the Pirongia Hall on November Ist, in aid of the Te Rore Hall funds. ,-Mrs Lightbody and Miss Laing. of who are making a 12months' tour of New Zealand, are the guests of Mrs Marx, Te Rore. Mrs M. Swinburne and Miss Swvn burn©: of Auckland, were the guests of Mvs C. Swinburne, of Te Rore, during the week-end.
