At Te Awamntu stock sale last Thursday the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company had a fat cattle entry very similar to that of the previous sale, it being composed mostly of medium, .fat cows, but a few quality animals and several pens of ox beef were included. Generally

late rates prevailed, practically everything selling. Competition was also maintained for a good entry of store cows. Very keen interest centred round the sale of the yearling heifers., which were yarded in excess of the advertised number of 250. Buyers were many, and keen competition ruled throughout, complete satisfaction being expressed by the vendors for values received in comparison with late

rates. The dairy entry was practically all heifers, and with a large bench of buyers competing practically a total clearance was effected at values right

up to late market prices.
