BREAKFAST AND FINICKY APPETITES.. The breakfast table.is where finicky appetites groAV most temperamental. But Clark Gable admits that nothing suits his rising meal so much as good lold ham and eggs. Marion Davies salys she can get by nicely on orange juice and a cup of coffee; but confesses to a breakfast weakness . for Welsh rarebit—of all things ! Greta Garbo usually has toast and tea sent to her dressing room for breakfast;when she's making up for work at Metro-Goldwyn-Muyer's studio. Norma Shearer says cereals and fruit suffice in the morning unless she is free to sleep late, when a minute steak with waffles isn't at all hard to take. ~-.--. Then there.is John Barrymdre, who rises on a glass of hot water end lemon juice to pave the way for French toast with oodles of Vermont syrup and two cups of coffee. His brother Lionel in less robust at the breakfast table with soft boiled eggs and a decided loathing for oatmeal and prepared cereals. Helen Hayes likes chocolate instead of coffee at breakfast, and Nils Asther actually eats pie in the morning and also douses fined eggs with catsup. Jean Harlow is content to start the day with fruiti, tea, and melba toast. Wallace Beeny can't think of stirring without sausage or pork chops with his eggs and coffee. And Walter Huston has an after-shower appetite for pigskin-blankets with French fried potatoes and milk. Jackie Cooper laments a prescribed breakfast of cereals, cream and milk when he prefers ice cream and bananas.
Elissa Landi has the leading role in the Paramount production, "The Sign of the Cross." A charming photograph of the star, as i*hc appears in this production.
